Math in Action
The Florida-State-Assessment (FSA) in Algebra 1 is called a ‘high-stakes test’ because students need to pass the exam in order to graduate. The FSA’s for Geometry and Algebra 2 are replacing the End-of-Course Exams (EOC) as the cumulative final and will help students by measuring gains and progress. However, we think Algebra is bigger than just a test; algebra is a gateway subject–succeeding in algebra will help you succeed in higher level math courses, which in-turn opens the doors to exciting opportunities and careers.
Check out the Math in Action videos above, which features University of Florida students and athletes talking about how algebra has affected their lives!
